Machine Log
LCLH offers precision machined logs – also called milled logs – for a modern log home design. The logs are cut using a custom built, fully automated machine log processor that was the first of it’s kind in the log home business. The precise production process delivers an exacting final product that virtually eliminates human error – saving both time and money during the building’s finishing process.
The logs are first carefully selected and then cut into D-shaped exterior logs and flat sided interior logs. Each log includes a tongue and groove notching on the top and bottom for a precision fit between each layer.
One of the best features of the precision milled log home is the computerized processing that makes the finished logs a perfect match to the log home design specifications. Each set of log home plans is created in the computer and the information is relayed to the processor’s computer which automatically calculates log lengths; cut-outs for electrical, windows and doors; vertical and horizontal notches; beam pockets; and even finger-joints for a precision on-site assembly.
Roof systems are machined in a separate processor that has a rotating table with a 36” tilting saw blade, allowing for precisely cut angles for the most basic or complex roof systems.
Lake Country Log Homes’ specialized processor is capable of cutting an entire house in one eight hour shift. At the assembly station the log home or log cabin is pre-assembled, labelled, sanded, packaged and inspected before delivery. High standards of quality are delivered at every stage of the manufacturing process to ensure well built log homes for every customer.
