Fairweather

The Fairweather offers the warmth of a handcrafted log home in a straightforward, single-level design. Within its 32′ x 24′ footprint, the plan provides 768 square feet of interior space, with two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and an open kitchen and living area. A further 150 square feet of covered deck creates a sheltered entrance and a place to enjoy time outside, giving this compact home an appealing balance of indoor comfort and outdoor connection.

The kitchen and living spaces occupy one side of the home, allowing daily activities to share an open, connected setting. Along the kitchen’s outer wall, the sink sits beneath a window, while an L-shaped counter brings the working area toward the centre of the room. A separate island adds another preparation surface, and space beside the kitchen accommodates a dining table without requiring a separate dining room.

At the other end of this shared space, the living area has room for a conversational furniture arrangement close to the deck entrance. Double doors open directly onto the covered deck, making it easy to move between the main seating area and the outdoors. Windows along the exterior walls serve both the kitchen and living portions of the plan, while the absence of dividing walls keeps the interior visually connected.

The two bedrooms are grouped on the opposite side of the home, with a shared bathroom positioned between them. Each bedroom has its own closet and exterior window, providing practical accommodation for a couple, a small family, or overnight guests. The bathroom includes a bathtub, toilet, and vanity, and opens from the central circulation space so it can be reached without passing through either bedroom.

With all rooms on one level and little space devoted to hallways, the Fairweather keeps its layout simple and easy to navigate. Its two-bedroom arrangement offers a comfortable starting point for a modest year-round residence, a guest home, or a recreational cabin. For homeowners who want a manageable footprint with distinct sleeping quarters and an inviting shared living space, this design brings the essentials together with care.
